Microsoft Holds CityNext Summit

Smartphones Media Upadate - On this day, Tuesday (09/29/2015), Microsoft held CityNext Summit 2015 in JS Luwansa. This event was attended by 150 people consisting-of the mayor, the head BAPPEDA, Director General of Regional Autonomy, and government employees working in 23 cities. CityNext Summit is part of Microsoft's program CityNext.
CityNext program itself is a town with a program to advance existing technology and also to improve the city's economy. In this CityNext program, Microsoft is trying to involve governments, the private sector and communities.
"Microsoft believes that technology is only one tool used to develop smart city. One thing that is important is the cooperation between the parties in the city, namely the government, private and public," said Kertapradana Subagus, Public Sector Director Microsoft Indonesia.
Focus CityNext Summit event held today is a discussion of the results of research conducted by the University of Gadjah Mada, Lee Kwan Yew School of Public Policy - National University of Singapore and Microsoft. The study, entitled "Towards Secondary Smart Cities: Mapping Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the Public Service in 12 Cities in Indonesia" is to discuss the development of the use of ICT in 12 selected secondary cities.
Ilham Habibie, Chariman, Bandung Smart City and Chairman, Institute for Democratizaton through Science and Technology, The Habibie Center, explained that in Bandung, have proven that the technology can be used to help the government.
